故事的來龍去脈是這樣
先是Fox Sports 跟 ESPN 競爭
兩者都有出價
FOX Sports 一開始出的價碼比較高
訴求是跟FOX Sports Package 一起包裝
所以你只要有Sports Package 裡面有FOX Sports network
就會有Longhorns Network
然後ESPN的訴求就是他們做體育頻道做的比較威猛
開價是10M
學校比較中意ESPN 所以就一直在談
到最後是20年300M 等於一年15M
這些錢是ESPN 直接給我們的
重點是我們的商標有一部分掌握在IMG College上面
所以也必須要IMG College 授權給ESPN
然後一起簽約這樣
所以最後的總金額是
ESPN 給我們15M
IMG College 給我們 10M
總額是每年至少25M
如果Big12 答應我們的轉播金成真的話
那就有額外20M的收入
光電視這部分就有45M
相較目前威猛的OSU
Big10 TV 給20M
IMG College 給12M
總額32M
整整多了13M
而且這25M是保障20年
在合約中ESPN 是執行者的角色
我們握有最後的主導權
也就是說未來還有繼續談其他附加條款的可能性
ESPN也要在校園內蓋錄影棚
這個Longhorn Network 也會轉播UIL的比賽
因為UIL是UT-Austin所擁有的一部分
未來連畢業典禮也是在專播的範圍內
除了體育賽是以及相關節目外
這頻道也可以用在學術交流用途
目前為止消息大概就這樣了
至於專播的那場Football game
most likely是最難看的那場
據傳 接下來唯一有機會的是Notre Dame
UF 已經跟ESPN還是CBS有類似的電視合約了
所以可行性不高
最後 A&M 請哭泣吧 活該不一起加入
