TORONTO -- John Lackey looked like a man who'd been beaten up on Wednesday
night, and not by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Since divulging to one reporter that his wife was diagnosed with breast
cancer last Thanksgiving, Lackey had kept his private life private --
especially the health of his wife. But in the aftermath of a decisive defeat
on Wednesday night, Lackey hinted that something more important might be on
his mind.
"Everything in my life sucks right now, to be honest with you," he said.
He refused to elaborate further.
Lackey surrendered nine earned runs in 6 2/3 innings, walking five and
striking out just one. He walked home a run and gave up a two-run double to
light-hitting infielder John McDonald in a seventh inning in which the
depleted Red Sox bullpen forced Terry Francona to leave him in the game long
after he looked like he was done.
"Everything went wrong that could go wrong," he said. "It's pretty much the
story of the whole damn year."
爆掉的主因?
但問題是他今年表現又有好過 (美西限定?)
有沒有紅襪球員及其家人特別容易生重病的八卦?
