KD Says It’s Only “Pure Hate” That Keeps Him From Winning Awards

Kevin Durant has learned to find peace with the fact that he won’t win any
big-time awards during his tenure with the Warriors.

Here’s what he said in a sit-down on 95.7 The Game:

“You know they’re not gonna give me anything. Even if it’s on the fence, I
have to be clear-cut better than everybody for me to even get a look. I mean,
it’s just pure hate for me obviously. Um, and no appreciation for my real
skill for the game, but I get it, I understand where we coming from. I
understand what we have here in this building that scares everybody, but for
me, I was just proud of that growth that I had in that area, where as I just
wanted to be able to be relied on to guard anybody. You know, accolades that
stuff … that stuff is kind of long gone for me unless it’s like Finals or
something like that where it’s probably pretty even. But regular-season
awards, I mean, I’m never gonna get a look when it comes to that, especially
playing here for the Warriors.”

He certainly makes a good point. A lot of people are disgusted by the way he
joined Golden State a few years ago, and because of that decision, are
reluctant to give him any regular season awards.
KD提了一個很好的論點。很多人因為他幾年前加入勇士這舉動感到噁心，也因為那決定，
他們也就不願意給他任何正規季獎項。

Then again, with wins almost a sure-thing for his team, the case could be
made that he actually does have an unfair advantage.

Either way, nobody (including him) will be surprised when he fails yet again
to win a regular season award this year.
