Germany centre back Mats Hummels is able to train again after treatment to a
knee injury, which forced him to come off at half-time in the 7-1 World Cup
semifinal victory over Brazil.
Hummels is suffering from tendinitis and was asked to be taken off at
half-time against Brazil on Tuesday with the score at 5-0. He first hurt his
knee in Germany’s 4-0 win over Portugal at the start of the tournament.
The 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund defender is not thought a doubt for Sunday’
s final against Argentina. Assistant coach Hansi Flick said all 23 players
were able to train, some individually. — DPA
