Not too much to do.
Reliable figure between the posts for the Blues and he was called upon on
numerous occasions by an adventurous Hull outfit. Pushed aside anything that
came near his goal as he broke Peter Bonetti's club record for clean sheets.

Up and down the right flank.
Will be disappointed not to have offered more support to Willian down the
right and was caught out by the long ball as Hull targeted his flank. Looked
shakier than normal despite being shifted across to the more familiar
right-hand side.

Booked in the second half.
Solid, dependable and looks much improved in command of the ball at his feet.
Beaten for strength on a couple of occasions by Sagbo but stuck to the task.

Some strong defending.
Aside from a woeful first-half error - with which he was lucky to get away -
the captain was always in the right place to deal with wide deliveries and
balls into Sagbo as his relationship with Cahill continues to blossom.

Tough time from Elmohamady.
Did not look like a man who was once considered one of the best in the world
in his position in the opening exchanges. Elmohamady pushed him back and his
attacking instincts were altered as a result until his delightful backheel
freed Hazard to score.

Sat deep as the anchor in the Blues midfield and, while he could not really
be faulted for his work going forward, there were odd signs that he was
neglecting his defensive contributions, as Hull players found pockets of
space to shoot. Went close with two swerving free kicks.

Fortunate to get away with a series of late tackles but displayed his
combative side to help his side retrieve the ball in midfield and get at the
hosts' defence.

Worked tirelessly and produced the odd flash of brilliance but the constant
interchanging appeared to do the Brazilian few favours as he struggled to
assert any dominance in the final third.

Interestingly took up a deeper role than normal as he looked to influence the
play and was intricate with his passing. Hardly shied away from the task of
winning the ball back further up the field, either, when required. Unlucky to
see a goalbound effort tipped away in the first period.

Full of class and great goal.
Showed some sumptuous tricks and flicks early on but his end product was
sadly lacking one too many times in the first half. He more than made up for
that in the second period, though, as his constant probing of the Tigers'
defence resulted in a drilled finish from the edge of the box to give his
side the lead in some style.

Worked very hard and finished well to make it 2-0.
Always a willing runner in what was his 200th Premier League appearance and
showed awareness of those around him with his link-up play. Always posed a
threat with his effervescent movement and was rewarded for his battling
display with the second after a weaving run and arrowed finish to boot.
