Lleyton Hewitt has cautioned success-starved Australian tennis fans
against expecting miracles from Bernard Tomic.

Hewitt said it was unrealistic to believe the history-making 16-year-old
would emerge as an overnight sensation, despite the Queenslander on Monday
becoming the youngest player to win a men's singles match at the
Australian Open.

"It was a great win by Bernard yesterday, but he's still got a long way to
go before he's in the top hundred and playing in the other slams, the other
Masters Series week in and week out," Hewitt said.

Hewitt, turning 28 next month and set to drop outside the world's top 100
following his first-round loss to Fernando Gonzalez at Melbourne Park on
Tuesday, also said it was unfair to assume Tomic was ready to succeed him
as Australia's next-generation star.

"I could be retired by the time he gets to top hundred. Who knows how long
that will take," Hewitt said.

雖然昨天他贏了很棒的一場球, 但Tomic還有很長一段路要走,
"等Tomic打進top100的時候我可能都已經退休了" Hewitt said.

我算很喜歡澳洲的外國人了, 聽久了卻也有厭惡感~
