the recipient of the 2022 James P. Dawson Award, given annually to the most
outstanding Yankees rookie in spring training.

In 3 appearances, Schmidt posted a 3.86 ERA, & led all Yankees pitchers with
11 strikeouts over 9.1 IP.

on-field device to curtail sign stealing. PitchCom is a device that involves
a pad with buttons worn on the wrist allowing quick/covert communication
between pitchers/catchers. 5 players per team can use it.
