The Atlanta, Ga. Police Department declined to press charges of child abuse
against Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard.
Howard's ex-girlfriend, Royce Reed, alleged last year Howard beat his then
six-year old son with a belt causing bruises and abrasions.
"I can confirm we are not moving forward with charges in this case," said
Sgt. Gregory Lyon, in an email to FOX 26 Sports.

not to proceed with charges," said Markus in a statement to FOX 26 Sports.
"Dwight Howard will continue to act in the best interest of his children and
do whatever is necessary to protect their welfare."

The Florida Department of Children and Families originally investigated the
allegations and did not find evidence of child abuse.
TMZ reported in January Cobb County in Georgia also looked into the
allegations, but determined the alleged incident took place in Fulton County,
with the Atlanta Police Department taking over the investigation.
