The England defender made some crucial interceptions and coped well with the
movement of Suarez. One very important last-ditch clearance to deny Adam but
booked for a bad late challenge on Suarez.

Dominant in the air and good positionally. Never really allowed Liverpool
space in behind.

Impressive performance from the full-back, both on the left and then the
right. Strong in the challenge and covered well for the central defenders.

The Brazilian played well in a holding midfield role. Denied Liverpool's
attacking players space in between the lines and was comfortable on the ball,
playing an excellent pass in the build-up to Eto'o's strike.

Forced Mignolet into a stunning save with a rasping strike from 30 yards but
was on the periphery of the game. Replaced by Mikel at half-time.

Wonderful performance from the Belgian as he threatened Liverpool virtually
every time he received the ball. Scored a brilliant curling equaliser from 20
yards in the first half.

Intelligent movement as he drifted in to space and linked up play with clever
turns and touches. Great play in the box to set up Eto'o's goal.

Linked up well with the rest of Chelsea's attacking players, looking to cut
inside from the left and play sharp passing moves with team-mates.

Took goal well
Stabbed home just his third Premier League goal of the season in the 34th
minute after excellent movement in the penalty area. Struck a one-on-one too
close to Mignolet in the second half but put in a horrible studs-up challenge
on Henderson and might have conceded a penalty for a stupid tackle on Suarez.
