19:54: Cancel your plans... Perhaps a bit too early to reach for the
Wimbledon Compendium (which is in tatters after that Isner-Mahut
business last week), but this Roddick-Lu contest is starting to
look like it may go on
for some time. Both men holding without any problems whatsoever
at the moment. Lu gets the job done to 15 to move ahead 8-7
in the fifth. Pressure back on Roddick.

19:58: Roddick is out!
Things start to go wrong for Roddick when he shanks a forehand
long to slip to 15-30. A big forehand brings it back to 30-all
but another Roddick forehand drifts long to hand Lu match point.
The American comes to the net and Lu seals the biggest win
of his life with a forehand
pass up the line. The fifth seed is out, the Court 2 crowd goes
crazy. Lu goes through 9-7 in the fifth set and becomes
the first man from Chinese Taipei ever to reach the quarter-finals
of a Grand Slam. Crikey.

20:07: Lu – It’s a dream
“It’s a dream – I couldn’t imagine this could happen,”
says Lu after his heroic 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7),
9-7 victory over Roddick.
“From the beginning I told myself to fight and finally
I got a chance.” Hats off to the 26-year-old world No.82.
