BOSTON -- Red Sox right-hander Josh Beckett, who leads the Major Leagues with
seven wins, will miss his Friday night start against the Braves because of
the avulsion on his right middle finger that forced him off the mound after
four innings in his May 13 start against the Orioles.
The Red Sox did not announce who will take Beckett's spot in the rotation,
but did say that the starter would come from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Beckett will throw a side session on Friday. If that goes well, it's
conceivable he could be slotted back into the rotation during the early part
of next week.
This is hardly the first time Beckett has had a finger issue. He had several
blister problems during his years with the Florida Marlins.
This injury is not diagnosed as a blister because there was no callous that
developed before the avulsion. Instead, Beckett suffered a cut on the skin
of his finger while throwing a curveball in Sunday's game vs. Baltimore.
Beckett is off to a brilliant start. In eight starts, he is 7-0 with a 2.66
ERA. Tigers manager Jim Leyland, who will manage the American League All-Star
Team on July 10, said earlier this week that if the decision had to be made
right now, Beckett would be his starter.
北七確定要跳過一次先發了
但是如果練投的狀況不錯
很快就會回來
似乎沒有進DL的跡象
先發的位置將由3A不知名的小朋友取代
北七的好投
可能會讓他成為明星賽的先發
