Thank you for your comments concerning our story about the disqualification
of Yang Shu-Chun from the Taekwondo competition at the Asian Games.
Our first version of the story stated that Ms Yang was disqualified because
of an extra sensor in each sock that Asian Games officials said was illegal.
The piece contained Ms Yang's denial of guilt but did not include the
Taiwanese argument that the sensors had passed pre-match checks. A second,
fuller version of the story was published 90 minutes later, stating the
Taiwanese case and clarifying the discrepancy between what the two sides are
saying.
We believe our report is a balanced account of what both sides say happened.
