09 Aug 2020

We take a look at the statistics from our final game of the 2019/20
season...

Bayern had 18 shots to our 10, and seven to four on target. Eight of their
efforts were from outside the box, and five stemmed from set-pieces.

Of our starters, only the two centre-backs and the goalkeeper didn't have
at least one attempt.

Bayern had a 63.4 per cent share of possession. For Chelsea, nobody spent
more time on the ball (5.3 per cent), had more touches (71) or completed
more passes (51) than Mateo Kovacic. The Croatian also completed a
game-high four dribbles. Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi registered
three apiece.

As a team our pass success rate was 84 per cent, compared to Bayern's 89.
Bayern completed 568 passes to our 309.

Andreas Christensen was our most accurate passer (finding a team-mate 93
per cent of the time) followed by Kovacic (91 per cent). Barkley was among
a group of players to make two key passes. Robert Lewandowski was the only
man to make three, in addition to his two goals.

Bayern won 63 per cent of the 19 aerial duels contested, and they made 19
tackles to our four. Thiago Alcantara was responsible for six of those.

When it came to interceptions, N'Golo Kante led the way with four,
followed by Kovacic who made two. Kurt Zouma's nine clearances was more
than twice as many as anyone else on the pitch.

Chelsea are the first team in Champions League history to start three
Englishmen aged 21 or younger in a knockout match.

Hoddle: 'Matthew will be sitting up there looking down now and

loving Chelsea being winners. He'll just love Chelsea winning.'
