HAZARD PICKS UP SUPPORTERS' CLUB AWARD

Eden Hazard won his second individual prize of the season when he
collected the Chelsea Supporters' Clubs' Player of the Year award.


Hazard, who won the PFA Young Player of the Year award just over a week
ago, was presented with the trophy by Supporters' Club members ahead of
our final home game of the season, against Norwich City at Stamford
Bridge, on Sunday.


Now in its fifth year, the award is voted for by members of each
individual Supporters' Club, with previous winners including Branislav
Ivanovic, as well as former Chelsea players Juan Mata and Didier Drogba.


The award was presented by Neils Uni Dam, head of the Faroe Island
Supporters' Club, shortly ahead of kick-off.


Uni Dam, who was joined by his son, Mikal, was understandably delighted to
make the presentation.


'It was really great to be inside the stadium to present the award,' he
told the official Chelsea website. 'We could feel the atmosphere and to
walk out on to the pitch, with all the fans there, was brilliant.


'Eden was really friendly and to have our photos taken with him was very
nice, but we didn't have much time to talk to him as the game was about to
begin.'


He also felt the Belgian was a worthy winner of the prize.


'All our members vote and almost every vote was for Eden,' Uni Dam added.
'He's been our outstanding player this season. He's missed a few games
recently through injury and he's been a big loss.'


Hazard has been rewarded for an impressive second season in English
football, scoring 17 goals to date, including crucial strikes against the
likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.


The Belgian also scored his first hat-trick for the club in our 3-0 win
over Newcastle United in February, with his second goal in the game a
contender for the club's Goal of the Season award.


Attending the final home game of the campaign is a tradition for members
of the Faroe Island Supporters' Club and, for Uni Dam, Sunday's game will
live long in the memory.


'We always come over to a game once a season, usually the final home
match,' he said. 'We were going to the game against Norwich anyway so to
be able to make the presentation was fantastic.'
