"I'm really excited to be back," Williams said. "I feel like a kid in a candy
store. I feel like I have no pressure on me. ... I feel good."
"Anastasia's a good player," said Williams, who leads the all-time series
4-0. "We've had some really good matches. At some point you're going to have
to play (top-seeded players). Why not now?"
"It was mentally draining," said Williams, who ended the 2002 campaign ranked
No. 1. "I was training too much and so focused on going out there without
recovering from my injury. For me, it was definitely the wrong thing to do.
"The time off was awesome," she added. "I didn't wake up until noon every
day. For 22 years, I was waking up at 7 or 8 (a.m.). It was great to wake up
with no agenda."
