The postgame mood was one of gloom. Besides the loss of a game, the Mariners
will lose Johjima for at least two weeks with a broken bone in his left big
toe. He was injured during a collision with Athletics second baseman Adam
Kennedy in the bottom of the first inning, but remained in the game and hit a
